Mohd Sofiyuddin Appointed to MPC Board of Directors
We are pleased to announce that Zaid Ibrahim & Co. (a member of ZICO Law) Partner Mohd Sofiyuddin Ahmad Tabrani has been appointed to the Board of Directors of Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) through a Ministerial appointment by YB Datuk Darell Leiking, Minister of International Trade and Industry, effective 1 January 2019.
MPC is an agency under the Ministry of International Trade and Industry, formed in 1962 as a joint project between the United Nations Special Fund and the Federal Government. The organisation delivers high impact services towards achieving performance excellence through productivity enhancement for global competitiveness and innovation. MPC’s objectives are:
- Providing value-added information on productivity, quality, competitiveness and best practices through research activities and databases;
- Developing human capital and organisational excellence for building a knowledge-based society through training, systems development and best practices;
- Conducting review on regulation and promoting Good Regulatory Practice (GRP) to create a more competitive business environment; and
- Nurturing innovative and creative culture for productivity and competitiveness through partnership programmes.
Mohd Sofiyuddin has over 17 years of experience advising multinational companies, government ministries, authorities, and agencies, government linked corporations, and foreign and local financial services groups on a wide range of corporate matters. Further, he advises on law reform, regulatory frameworks and drafting of primary and subsidiary legislations. He was also appointed as an Advisor of MPC on GRP since January 2015, and is also a Director of the Malaysia-Thai Chamber of Commerce.
