We are delighted to announce that Zaid Ibrahim & Co. has secured major awards at the recent Asian Legal Business (ALB) Malaysia Law Awards 2019 and Islamic Finance News Deals of the Year 2018 Awards.

At the ALB Malaysia Law Awards 2019 held on 28 March 2019, from a total of 27 nominations the firm retained the Aviation Law Firm of the Year award for the second year running whilst also clinching the firm of the year award for the Restructuring and Insolvency category. The firm was also honoured with the M&A Deal of the Year Award 2019 for our involvement in the acquisition of the Southeast Asian operations of Uber Technologies by Grab.

At the IFN Deals of the Year Awards 2018 which took place on 21 March 2019, the firm won the Musharakah Deal of the Year for our involvement in UMW Holding Berhad’s RM 1.1 Billion under RM 2 Billion Perpetual Sukuk Musharakah Program.

In addition to these award wins, six Zaid Ibrahim & Co. partners were named in the A-list of Asian Business Law Journal (ALBJ) Top 100 Lawyers in Malaysia. The ranked lawyers include our partners Datuk Seri Dr Nik Norzrul Thani, Gilbert Gan, Lilian Liew, Linda Wang, Sharon Tan and Su Siew Ling. ALBJ’s inaugural list is stated to be based on independent research and feedback from in-house counsel across the region and aims to highlight Malaysian legal practitioners who have set themselves apart from the rest by delivering innovative and commercially practical client centric legal services.
