The 2022 Global Chinese Economic & Technology Summit (GCET) was held in Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 7th December 2022.

The theme of this year’s GCET is “Towards Sustainable Recovery and Shared Prosperity in the new Post-Pandemic Global Era”. The summit will be held in two hubs, one in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and the other in Jinan, Shandong province, China.

About the Global Chinese Economic & Technology Summit (GCET):

The World Chinese Economic Summit was established in 2009 by Tan Sri Michael Yeoh and Tan Sri Lee Kim Yew and was first held in the Palace of the Golden Horses, Malaysia.

Up until now, the annual event has been held in Melbourne, Chongqing, London, Melaka, Macao, Beijing, Bonn, and Penang, among other cities. The summit placed a strong emphasis on the role of the global Chinese, uniting the global Chinese diaspora, and encouraging cross-cultural learning.

In order to work toward sustainable globalization, the WCES was changed and transformed into the GCET. This was done in recognition of the strategic trends in global geopolitical and geoeconomics forces as well as the power of global partnerships in this new global era.

The GCET aims to highlight the 4Ps (Peace, Partnerships, People, and Planet) and reinforce global cooperation and technology partnerships to enhance international prosperity
