Experience

Visot is an associate and a foreign-licensed attorney at SokSiphana&associates specializing in project finance, investment projects, legal reform, corporate and commercial matters, and litigation and arbitration. He is a licensed attorney of the District of Columbia Bar Association in the U.S. and aims to obtain a Cambodian bar license soon.

He is well known for his great performance in the projects and project finance practice groups and has provided practical legal advice and solutions to clients in many high-dollar projects in Cambodia, including renewable energy projects, logistics complex projects, and infrastructure and port development projects. He has in-depth experience and knowledge in complex corporate and project finance.

He also has extensive experience in advising local and international clients (including multinational corporations, conglomerates, big names in their respective sectors, governmental entities, NGOs) on a wide range of legal issues concerning investment projects, public-private partnerships, structured finance, fintech, cross-border transactions and trades, securities, mergers and acquisitions, multinational business transfers, real estate, trusts, intellectual property, Cambodian market-entry, and regulatory licensing and compliance, to name a few.

He regularly assists clients, particularly foreign investors and developers, in drafting and/or reviewing numerous agreements and other documents for their investment projects, including among many others, specific project agreements, business transfer agreements, joint venture agreements, shareholders agreements, share transfer/share purchase agreements, credit facility agreements, syndicated and bilateral loan agreements, security agreements, land purchase and lease agreements, technology licensing agreements, service agreements. His great legal writing and analytical skills have enabled him/his team to win various awards, including an Honorable Mention award for a best-written memorandum on behalf of claimant in an international commercial law moot (Vis East Moot).

Career

Before joining the firm many years ago, Visot had worked as a credit analyst at Kookmin Bank Cambodia PLC in 2016 and has worked alongside legal professionals in various legal institutions abroad and in Cambodia, which include Korean Commercial Arbitration Board International and Center for Human Rights and International Justice (Stanford University), since 2014.
