3rd Best Counter-Memorial for Respondent

Best Respondent Oralist Ranking, 6th (Ms. CHEA DALINNA), and 14th (Ms. CHOENG SIVHOUR).
Vichara expresses immense pride and gratitude for the opportunity to share her experiences with law students. She highlights the remarkable progress made by Cambodian youth in the field of legal education, emphasizing that with determination and effort, “impossibility” can be overcome.
However, the speaker acknowledges the challenges faced by law students in today’s evolving legal landscape. The interconnectedness of international trade, the subject of this year’s moot problem, requires extensive research and analysis to stay updated with current trends. This posed a significant challenge to the students as it demanded critical thinking and knowledge beyond classroom lessons.
The increasing competitiveness of the moot court competition, with a record number of participants, made it even more difficult for the Cambodian team to advance to the international rounds. Despite these challenges, the speaker emphasizes the immense value of participating in the competition.
The experience provided the students with invaluable opportunities for professional development. They honed their legal skills, including research, critical thinking, writing, and oral pleading, and deepened their understanding of international trade law. Moreover, the competition offered a platform to network with legal professionals, opening doors for future career opportunities.
Beyond personal growth, the speaker highlights the importance of contributing to the Cambodian community. By participating in the moot court and promoting legal education, particularly in international trade law, the students are helping to achieve Cambodia’s goals of economic diversification and human capital development.
