SokSiphana&associates (a member of ZICO Law) is delighted to support International Women’s Day 2019. As part of ZICO Law’s month-long campaign, Khieu Mealy was invited to speak at an event organized by the Ministry of Environment to celebrate the 108th Annual International Women’s Day. The event focused on gender equality and social protection for human resource development.
Mealy highlighted the importance of having soft skills, which she gained from taking care of her family and children. These valuable soft skills combined with education and work experience gave her the competitive edge needed to break the glass ceiling in a male dominated profession.
In Cambodia, as more women enter the workforce, many female workers face a dilemma where they must choose between their career and their family as they struggle to combat the traditional role of a woman in the society. However, this conflict should not stop a woman from pursuing the life that she wants.
At SokSiphana&associates, we strongly believe that gender equality and inclusiveness is beneficial for everyone. We hope that Mealy’s message will inspire and empower Cambodian women out there to achieve great things.
